Seize the Day!

"I went sky diving, I went Rocky Mountain climbing, I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named Fumanchu, and I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter and I gave forgiveness I'd been denying, and he said someday I hope you get the chance to live like you were dying."
-Tim McGraw

There have been events over the last year that have made me feel the need to evaluate my outlook on life. Everything from my uncle being diagnosed with Leukemia, several friends losing a baby, my cousin killed at age 16 in a farm accident, the loss of my grandmother to Parkinson’s Disease, my aunt having emergency brain surgery, to my dad ending up with 3 screws in his foot. Still, among these misfortunes, this year Ryan was born, Klane married an amazing girl, Michael is finishing up a great mission in Melbourne, Australia and we have a some great friends and very supportive and loving families. What a precious gift this life is! We have just a short time to enjoy this journey here on Earth and many times I feel as though I get caught up in the daily grind and forget to reflect and be grateful for what I have been so blessed with. I am so lucky! I have a family, the Gospel and all the necessities of life. I LOVE being a mom! Ryan makes every day special in some way or another, and I am resolved to try and make an effort to truly enjoy each moment that I have with him and not let the little things get in the way (i.e. spit up, dirty diapers, bad naps, that new high pitched cry...etc ;). In reality (at the risk of sounding a bit pessimistic) I really don't know if each day I share with Chris or Ryan might be my last, so why not always try to make it the best that it can be?!
