So, as many of you might have noticed, my son's hair has been a bit out of control...enough that he looks like a wild child. I have been resisting cutting his hair because subconsciously to me it meant that he was no longer my little baby if he needed a haircut. I just don't want him to grow up! Luckily, after much personal preparation, I was able to get over my fear and get it done. My Aunt Annie was so sweet to let us come over and help us use this crazy machine she bought off ebay (a "Flowbee"??) that is possibly the worlds best haircutting invention ever! The video gives you a pretty good idea of how it works... The cut was a lot less drastic than I was envisioning, so I am doing pretty good and Ryan has since recovered from the terror of his first haircut. He looks so handsome without the Mad Scientist Wings/Mullet/Afro that he was sporting!
Thanks Annie for the help :)

Did you save some of his hair?? Ben had his first hair cut at 14 months and Seth will need one soon.
What a cutie! He looks as darling as ever. I want to hear more about this "flowbee"???
What a cute video, I have seen those flobies before on like a infomercial. I would have loved to have one of those for Sadies first haircut when she was his age, but even if I did it woudn't have cut anything off because it was so short.
Yeah I'm not going to lie, his hair was a little crazy :). But it's so fun to have that big first haircut moment too.
Oh and I don't own Ethan Frome. But I actually liked the movie even though I didn't like the book, too slow. We should watch that for bookclub.
It's darling! I totally understand your concern about cutting his hair. it's so cute and long...I wish I had been more cautious when I cut Boston's!
They still sell the Flowbee? I thought that product got discontinued when it took off some little kids' ear. Awesome haircut either way.
His first haircut, how cute. How fast time flies. By the way...I can't believe he cut Noel?!!
We could make a toupee for Brady with all of Ryan's hair! He needs it! Cute hair cut though!
Noooooo! I was totally against the haircut—but seeing his little lip slowly curl and the whimpering start in that video made it all worth it. Me and Angie have watched it 3 times so far.
we died laughing when his little lip poked out! That video is priceless! I can't wait to see you at dinner on Sunday (we're seeing you, right?) and see Ryan's new do!
Nice child abuse! Wow what a cutie!
